I’m a true ’90s kid. Catking Furniture was founded the same year I was born—back when I was still crawling around in diapers.
Some of my earliest memories are of my father—the founder of Catking—coming home late after long days, only to sit down and sketch new designs with a pencil. Those carefully refined lines would later become the signature of Catking furniture.
One of the most vivid parts of my childhood was in second grade. Every weekend, I’d tag along with my parents to our factory on Datong Road. While I helped my mom with calculations using an abacus in the finance office, the shear machine in the next workshop would be cutting raw materials. As technicians discussed techniques for processing steel pipe thickness, I’d skate through the metal workshop on my little board, treating the production line like my personal race track. That’s how furniture became part of my life from an early age.
At 23, I returned to China right after earning my bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston University. Seeing Catking’s products in person, I began to grasp the decades of dedication my father and the team had poured into them. That was the moment I knew I wanted to commit myself to this journey.
Full of passion, I started as a regional sales manager in 2013. Back then, my understanding of the market was mostly academic. I made decisions alone, rarely consulting the team, acting mostly on theory. It took five years of hands-on experience to truly understand my father’s saying: “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.” I was 30 when it finally clicked.
As consumer behavior shifted toward online shopping, our factory began transitioning in 2019 to a factory-to-consumer model, selling directly to retail customers. Through years of serving end-users, I’ve learned that delivering great furniture customization isn’t about one person’s intelligence or hard work—it’s about teamwork and putting the user at the center of everything. Only when the whole team shares the same goal can we thrive long-term in a competitive market. It wasn’t until I turned 30 that I began to fully appreciate the values and vision my father instilled in everyone at Catking.
Simply put, I want all our customers to know: Catking is built on strong values. Our foundation and company culture are rooted in human-centric principles. Only a company with the right mission, vision, and values can deliver reliable, long-term service. We’ve been focused on furniture for the past 34 years—and we’re committed to delivering customized furniture solutions for at least 30 more.
